The weather cooperated this afternoon and it was a family affair in our big garden. We only had a few sprinkles as we planted.
The kids planted marigolds around the perimeter while Joe and I got the majority of the plants in.
I’m really hoping for a good growing season as last year wasn’t all that great.
We still have to plant green beans but today we managed to get in 24 tomato plants, zucchini, yellow squash, spaghetti squash, scalloped squash, cabbage, eggplants, cucumbers, potatoes and watermelon.
In an effort to deter the deer early we planted 100 marigolds around the garden and tied pie tins to posts around the garden and to the tomato cages – we’ll see how it goes.
It was so nice to have my bare feet in the dirt this weekend. It’s something I love.
