Gearing up for cold and flu season.

The weather is starting to change here in the Northeast and there are hints of fall all around.

I’m coming down with a cold or something so I decided to start gearing up for cold and flu season.

Today I made a home remedy to soothe the symptoms of a cold or flu.

It’s a honey, lemon and ginger concoction that will keep for several months in the refrigerator.

You’ll need raw honey,  fresh ginger and lemons.

Wash your lemons well, slice and set aside. Then remove the skin from the ginger and slice it.

Fill a mason jar with layers of lemon slices and ginger and then pour the honey over it allowing it to get in between all the lemons and ginger.

Close tightly with a lid and keep in the refrigerator. It will keep for several months.

When you are sick take 2 to 3 tbs and put in a mug of hot water. Let steep for a few minutes.

As it sits in the refrigerator it will become a loose jelly.

I just had my first cup and it was delicious. Definitely soothed my throat and cleared my nose up temporarily.
