Baking = Love

I’m not an overly affectionate person, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t love – I just show it in a different way.

Baking = Love.

I love to bake for my family especially at Christmas time.

Today was my first day of vacation and a marathon baking day.

I started with my husband’s favorite chocolate chip cookies. I enjoy making them for him and seeing how happy he is to sit down with an ice cold glass of milk and a plate of cookies.

This year I only made 10 dozen instead of my usual 15 dozen – we’ll see if they make it until Christmas!
I also decided to try making some crock pot candy. It was super easy. Just some honey roasted peanuts, almond bark, Baker’s German chocolate, and chocolate chips – on low for 2 hours, stirring every 20 minutes after the first hour.

After they were done cooking I dropped them on parchment paper and sprinkled them with some candy decorations.
I made mine pretty big so only got around 50 candies. The recipe said it would make 144!

I finished my day with peanut butter cookies. These were one of my favorite cookies that I used to make as a child with my mom. That is where my love of baking began – in the kitchen with my mom at Christmas time baking hundreds of cookies!

I’m thankful for my love of baking that I can share with those I love!
